Bhubaneswar, 15th October: In a heartwarming Olympic moment, Odisha’s government school students engage with IOC President Thomas Bach. This event is a testament to the transformative power of the Olympic Values Education Programme (OVEP).
The children express how Olympic Values Education empowers them with Olympic values and motivates their active participation in sports. They quizzed President Bach on his Olympic journey and the significance of Olympic values today.
In a touching gesture, the students gifted President Bach their artwork and a comprehensive ‘Model IOC Session’ report they had meticulously prepared. President Bach lauds Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik for his support of OVEP and Odisha Ridley Forest Project, demonstrating Odisha‘s commitment to the Olympic movement.
The event underscores OVEP’s role in shaping young minds and Odisha’s dedication to youth empowerment and sports. Secretary Sports and Youth Services, Vineel Krishna, Olympic Champion Abhinav Bindra, and IOC Athletes Commission Member grace the occasion, adding to its significance.
